What should a quote include?
A quote is a price the client can hold you to, so it needs to be precise. Include the following.
- Your business name and contact details
- The client’s name and address
- A unique quote number
- Issue date and the date the quote is valid until
- A precise description of each deliverable
- Quantity and fixed rate for each item, and the quoted total
- Tax, if it applies, shown per item
- Payment terms and any deposit required
- Exclusions and assumptions the price depends on

In most places a quote becomes binding once the client accepts it, for the scope and price it states and for as long as it says it is valid. That is why a quote should be precise about what is included; use an estimate instead when the price may change.
